Shift Hours: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 8am - 5pm , Wed 8am - 12pm
*Job Summary*
- Ability to handle busy physician's office and multi-task
- Excellent customer service, organizational and telephone skills
- Front office and back office medical skills.
- This position performs routine clerical, administrative, and clinical duties within the scope allowed for TN state law.
- MA must be customer focused and driven to grow and to further develop a working culture consistent with HMA’s mission, vision and values and commitment to high standards of ethical and business conduct and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and third party payer requirements.
- Education/Licensures/Certifications/Experience:
- MA: Certificate, Registration or Diploma - OR 1 year of MA experience
- CPR (BLS) certification
- 1 year clinical experience in a primary care physician's office preferred
- Ideal candidate would have good initiative and be able to anticipate physicians needs
- Experienced with scheduling, pre-certifications, referrals and general front desk duties.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong computer kills
- EMR experience (preferred)
- Must be dependable, energetic, have a strong work ethic and be a team player
- Must be flexible and have excellent attention to detail
- Must have reliable and consistent attendance
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours a day
- Requires regular walking, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting
- Must be able to lift at least 25lbs
- Must be able to assist patients with transfers from chair to wheelchair, to exam tables, and back to wheelchair/chair
- Must be able to assist patient with turning/positioning on exam table
- Must be able to push patient in wheelchair
- Must be able to manipulate objects—reaching, grasping, handling
- Must exhibit good communication skills—understand, respond and translate into action
- Ability to delineate between numeric numbers
- Clinical setting; exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, medical preparations and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.32 - $25.00 per hour
