Make Lives Better, Enrich Your Own: Join OnCare Health as a Volunteer!
Becoming a hospice volunteer is a deeply meaningful way to make a difference in someone's final chapter of life. Volunteers offer comfort, companionship, and a listening ear to patients and their families during a sacred and vulnerable time. It’s a chance to give back, gain perspective, and be part of a compassionate team that values presence, dignity, and human connection. Even a small act—like holding a hand, reading aloud, or simply sitting quietly—can bring profound peace and comfort.

- Sitting vigil with patients who are actively dying.
- Caregiver relief (sitting with patient while loved ones take a break).
- Playing music or singing.
- Preparing or mailing sympathy cards and grief materials.
- Helping with grief support groups (set-up, greet guests).
- Making blankets, shawls, or comfort items.
- Assembling sunshine mailings or holiday baskets.
- Crafting personalized cards or décor for patient rooms.
- Prayer visits or scripture reading.
- Guided meditation or mindfulness exercises.
- Supportive listening and presence during emotional moments.
