What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Agent position at Heritage Hotel?
We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Front Desk Agent for a limited-service hotel. This is a hands-on position where you will typically be responsible for managing the hotel and its public areas independently during your shift.
This is not a position with a lot of downtime. While you will handle traditional front desk responsibilities, you will also be responsible for laundry, cleaning and maintaining public areas, stocking hotel supplies, and assisting guests throughout the property. You should expect to be on your feet and moving throughout most of your shift.
Pay is based on experience. Candidates with previous hotel or front desk experience may qualify for a higher starting wage. Employees who demonstrate reliability, learn the property, and remain with the hotel can expect opportunities for increased pay over time.
Responsibilities
- Check guests in and out of the hotel
- Answer incoming front desk phone calls
- Assist guests with questions, requests, and concerns
- Take hotel reservations over the phone
- Process payments and maintain accurate guest information
- Wash, dry, fold, and organize hotel laundry throughout the shift
- Keep the hotel lobby clean and presentable
- Clean and maintain public areas throughout the hotel
- Stock and maintain the hotel coffee bar
- Keep the pool area clean and organized
- Stock clean pool towels and collect used towels
- Monitor public areas and address cleanliness issues as they arise
- Restock front desk and guest supplies when needed
- Handle guest concerns professionally and know when an issue needs to be escalated
- Complete assigned shift duties and ensure the property is left clean and organized for the next shift
What We Are Looking For
The right person for this position is someone who:
- Is dependable and shows up for scheduled shifts on time
- Is comfortable working independently
- Does not need constant supervision to stay productive
- Is willing to clean, do laundry, and help wherever needed
- Can handle multiple responsibilities at the same time
- Has good customer service and communication skills
- Is comfortable answering phones and speaking with guests
- Can stay organized while being interrupted by guests or phone calls
- Takes pride in keeping the hotel clean and presentable
- Is able to remain on their feet and active for most of the shift
- Can lift, carry, and move laundry, linens, towels, and hotel supplies as needed
Experience & Pay
Previous hotel experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person who has a strong work ethic and is willing to learn.
Starting pay will depend on experience. More hotel/front desk experience can result in a higher starting wage.
We also believe in rewarding employees who stay with us, become dependable members of the team, and learn the property. As your experience and time with the hotel increase, there will be opportunities for your pay to increase as well.
Important
This position is best suited for someone who enjoys staying busy. There is generally very little sitting around or extended downtime during a shift. You will move between the front desk, laundry area, lobby, pool area, and other public areas while still remaining available to assist guests and answer the phone.
If you are looking for a job where you can stay active, work independently, and take responsibility for keeping the hotel running smoothly during your shift, this may be a great fit.
