Consignment Director, Comics And Comic Art
Evaluate consignments of comic books, original comic book art, and comic book-related memorabilia. Provide expert opinions of items to consigners, bidders, and associates in other auction venues. Responsible for generating and responding to leads.
Evaluate the property and establish auction estimates. Acquire consignments and individually generated leads. Research, authenticate, and catalog property. Proof catalog text and images, press releases, consignment and bidding emails, and advertising copy. Market lots in auctions to various clients. Contribute to the expansion of the client database. Answer inquiries before, during, and after the auction. Travel as needed to meet with clients and review the property for potential consignment. Actively participate in auctions and trade shows. Utilize extensive knowledge of authenticating, valuing and understanding the market for international comic book variants across different countries and eras. Utilize knowledge of grading comic books to determine value of consignments in accordance with industry grading standards.
Experience Requirements
Eight (8) years of Comics and Comic Art experience. Experience must include:
40% international and domestic travel required.

Eight (8) years of Comics and Comic Art experience. Experience must include:
- Experience in comic books, comic book art, pulps, and comic related memorabilia.
- Experience with Golden Age comic books and original comic artwork from the 1930s to the 1950s.
- Experience with authenticating and assessing collectibles in the field of Japanese comics (Manga).
40% international and domestic travel required.
