Description: Experienced public auto Underwriter to join our team. You will be responsible for evaluation and underwriting insurance policies specifically tailored for public vehicles such as buses, taxis, limousines, and other commercial vehicles used for passenger transportation. Your primary focus will be assessing risk, determining appropriate coverage, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while maintaining profitability for the company. Strong knowledge of Automobile lines of business is required. Superior skills in customer service, relationship building, and multitasker. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, and guidelines. Computer literacy, including functional knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel. We are willing to train.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Ensuring approvals and declinations are in line with the most recent underwriting standards. Assess risk, rating, pricing, coverage analysis, policy review, driver reviews, account evaluation, and recommendations. Correspond with brokers, provide general support to team, maintain profit, growth, and retention of books. Maintain and develop relationships with brokers. Gaining and maintaining current underwriting standards knowledge.
Experience: 3 years of underwriting or market facing experience OR 6 years of claims or underwriting support experience. * IIES- DMV reporting a plus.
