Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our dynamic café team. Prior barista or coffee experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided to ensure your success.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with attention to quality and presentation.
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales transactions.
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, providing excellent customer service to enhance their experience.
- Manage cash register operations including cashiering, food handling, and basic math for transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in food preparation areas, counters, and seating areas following food safety guidelines.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling food items or snacks as needed.
- Restock supplies and ensure the café remains organized and inviting throughout shifts.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality.
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or coffee industry knowledge is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with an outgoing personality and positive attitude.
- Ability to handle cash accurately, perform retail math, and manage basic math calculations efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours.
