Job Summary
This position is part of our Packaging Production Team for powdered dietary supplements. Operators are responsible for weighing, scooping, filling, sealing, and labeling powder products, while ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory standards are met. Operators follow SOPs and cGMPs to maintain a safe and efficient production environment, ensuring proper documentation, equipment operation, and adherence to procedures. The Packaging Production Operator – Powders plays a key role in maintaining production schedules, meeting goals, and ensuring high-quality standards. Tasks include setting up and operating filling equipment, inspecting finished goods, and maintaining a clean and allergen-controlled workspace.
Essential Responsibilities
Follow batch record instructions and specifications for packaging powdered dietary supplements
Measure, scoop, and fill containers accurately according to weight specifications
Operate powder filling equipment, bag sealers, induction sealers, and related machinery
Ensure containers are properly sealed, labeled, and free of powder residue
Start and shut down production equipment according to daily schedules
Place and remove jars, pouches, or other packaging formats onto and off conveyors or turntables
Visually inspect filled products for quality, fill weight, seal integrity, and cleanliness
Clean and prepare containers and packaging components
Maintain a clean work area by depositing scrap, spillage, and damaged materials in designated bins
Conduct regular in-process checks such as weight verification and lot tracking
Follow Good Documentation Practice and complete paperwork accurately
Perform cleaning and sanitization of equipment and rooms per SOPs to avoid cross-contamination
Work on an assembly line or independently, maintaining efficiency and focus
Adhere to allergen and contamination control procedures for powder production
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Basic Math Skills (counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Legible handwriting for accurate documentation
Previous experience in powder handling or supplement packaging is a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs repeatedly (occasionally up to 40 lbs with assistance)
Ability to stand for 8 hours
Manual dexterity to handle small tools and packaging components
Comfortable wearing PPE such as gloves, face masks, and hairnets as required for powder processing
