Job Summary
We’re seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Mill and Warehouse Technician 1 to join our production team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing and processing herbs, roots, and spices using both equipment and manual methods. You’ll play a key role in maintaining product quality, following safety protocols, and ensuring accurate documentation throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process herbs, roots, and spices using a variety of tools and equipment, including cutters, powder machines, aspirators, and manual methods, in accordance with established quality control protocols and documentation requirements.
- Ensure material quantities are accurate and aligned with scheduled production plans.
- Read, understand, and follow the mill production schedule to support efficient workflow and output.
- Assemble and disassemble processing equipment for production runs, sanitation, and scheduled maintenance.
- Accurately complete required documentation before, during, and after scheduled work activities.
- Verify and document equipment cleanliness following cleaning procedures, including quality checks and required signoffs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of packaging methods, materials, and requirements for post-production herbs, roots, and spices.
Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
- Basic math proficiency, including calculations involving numbers, percentages, measurements, and simple proportions.
- Ability to organize thoughts clearly and communicate effectively, while also demonstrating active listening and understanding of others.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to address practical issues and manage situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates professional composure and responds appropriately in a variety of situations.
- Consistently follows all safety protocols as directed by department and safety management.
- Maintains strict adherence to food safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Effectively collaborates cross-functionally with mill, warehouse, and inventory control teams to resolve discrepancies in inventory or scheduling.
- Proactively communicates quality concerns to management and the quality department.
- Demonstrates alignment with and commitment to the company’s core values.
Required Education and Experience
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
Experience: 6 months of related experience or training - Equivalent combination of education and experience
Working Conditions
- Work Environment: Work environment can be noisy requiring PPE; conditions include exposure to outdoor weather and is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse. Exposure to airborne particles and aromatics from plant material and slippery surfaces.

Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for long periods of time & heavy lifting required must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly, occasionally 75 lbs. with assistance.
