Full-Time Strength Coach
Her Strength Studio — Slingerlands, NY
Her Strength Studio is a women’s strength training studio dedicated to helping women become stronger, more confident, and capable through intelligent, progressive strength training.
We are looking for a knowledgeable, energetic, and highly motivated Full-Time Strength Coach to join our team at our Latham location.
This is not a group fitness instructor position. We are looking for someone who genuinely understands strength training, values thoughtful programming and proper technique, and wants to continue developing as a professional strength coach.

- Holds a current, nationally recognized personal training or strength & conditioning certification, such as:
- NSCA Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT)
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
- Or a comparable nationally recognized certification
- Has at least one year of coaching or personal training experience preferred, although we are open to exceptional newly certified coaches who are eager to learn
- Is comfortable coaching foundational strength movements including squats, deadlifts, presses, rows, carries, kettlebell movements, and barbell exercises
- Has excellent communication skills and can coach women with a wide variety of experience levels, abilities, and goals
- Is personable, encouraging, professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Is genuinely interested in continuing education and becoming an exceptional strength coach
Required Availability
Candidates must have consistent availability:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 5:30 AM–11:00 AM
Tuesday, Thursday 7:00 AM - 11 :00 AM
Additionally, this position requires flexibility to coach:
- 1 - 2 evenings per week as needed
- 1 - 2 Saturday mornings per month
Reliability during these hours is essential.
Training & Development
We take coaching quality extremely seriously.
Every new coach completes a minimum of four weeks of shadowing, apprenticeship, and hands-on training before independently coaching Her Strength sessions.
During this time, you’ll learn our:
- Coaching standards
- Programming philosophy
- Movement progressions and regressions
- Member experience expectations
- Cueing and technique standards
- Small-group coaching systems
We are looking for someone who wants to continue developing their craft—not simply someone looking to teach workouts.
The selected candidate will also be required to obtain a StrongFirst certification within one year of hire. We strongly value continuing education, particularly in kettlebell and barbell training.
About Her Strength Studio
Her Strength Studio specializes in small-group strength training for women.
Our sessions are intentionally kept small so our coaches can provide individualized attention, technique coaching, appropriate modifications, and progressive strength programming within a supportive community.
Our members range from women who have never touched a barbell or kettlebell before to experienced lifters looking to become stronger.
We believe strength training should be:
Smart. Progressive. Challenging. Safe. And empowering.
We care deeply about the quality of our programming and coaching, and we want coaches who take pride in doing things well.
