Central Supply Tech

Job Summary: Central Supply Tech I 

The Central Supply Technician is responsible for issuing all supplies as requested and timely completing the appropriate data entry for issues and returns. The Central Supply Technician I is responsible for issuing and delivering all medical supplies and equipment as requested. The CS tech is also responsible for maintaining set par-levels at various inventory locations throughout the hospital.  

Licensure and Certification: 

•  Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) Certification preferred.

Education:

•  Minimum High School graduate or GED equivalent

Experience:

•  6 months of hospital work, preferably in central service or materials management experience

Knowledge and Skills:

•  Customer service skills
•  Effective communication skills
•  Problem solving skills
•  PC and Printer
• Meditech experience a plus

Physical Demands - Clerical/Administrative Non-Patient Care:

• Frequent sitting and standing/walking with frequent position change.
• Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.
• Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.
• Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.
• Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties.

The Central Supply Technician II is responsible for issuing and delivering all medical supplies and equipment as requested. The CS Tech II is also responsible for maintaining set par-levels at various inventory locations throughout the hospital.

•  Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) Certification required.

Education:

•  Minimum High School graduate or GED equivalent

•  1 year central service or materials management experience
