GENERAL SUMMARY: A Coordinator-Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) is a trained and experienced CEP; an allied healthcare professional evaluates the acute and chronic responses to exercise in apparently healthy individuals and those who are at-risk or have an established chronic disease and to implement behavior change techniques to promote adherence to healthy lifestyles. CEPs work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team where they administer exercise stress tests, supervise clinic-based exercise training programs for patients with various complex chronic diseases, and provide physical activity consultation. Under the direction of the medical and program directors and unit leadership; administers, coordinates, and manages day to day operations for the specialty exercise training programs and services across multiple locations. These may include, but are not limited to exercise stress testing, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Supervised Exercise Therapy for Symptomatic Peripheral Artery Disease, and the Exercise and Cancer Integrative Therapy Education Program. They also provide physical activity counseling in the Clinical Weight Management Program and Bariatric Care Services. Such role will contribute to the overall planning and implementation of one or more of these programs to enhance the department's strategic growth, community outreach, and development opportunities. Provides clinical leadership in partnership with the CEPs to assure quality patient care. Leads a team of CEPs in day-to-day operations, organization, delegation of completion of daily duties, and process improvements. Ensures that on any given day, programs are operated safely and delivered in an efficient and efficacious manner.
Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in exercise science/physiology or related field required. Master's Degree in exercise science/physiology or related field strongly preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience as an Exercise Science/Physiologist required.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for the healthcare provider.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire. American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP) highly preferred.
Clinical exercise physiologist experience in cardiac rehab, program development, and community education preferred.
