Artisan Cheese Maker – Full-Time (First Shift)
Location: Approximately 6 miles northeast of Kiel, WI
Pay: Starting at $21/hour
Hours: 3:30 am - finish
We are a small, fourth-generation family cheese company dedicated to preserving the craft of traditional, artisan cheese making. We’re looking for dependable, long-term employees who take pride in their work and want to learn the art of creating high-quality, handcrafted cheese. Looking for someone with a great attitude
Position Overview
This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a willingness to learn. You’ll work alongside experienced cheesemakers, performing a variety of tasks essential to the production of our award-winning products.
It will take 3 weeks for your body to become acclimated to the work we do.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lifting, turning, and handling wheels of cheese
- Packaging, palletizing, and cleaning cheese-making equipment
- Prepping and filling forms, working over vats, and maintaining sanitation standards
- Assisting in other departments as needed
- Enjoys working with other people and has a Great Attitude
Schedule
- Full-time, first shift: 3:30 a.m. – finish (typically between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.)
- Monday through Friday, plus every other Saturday morning for a few hours
- Some holidays may be required if they fall during the week
Qualifications
- Height: 5’9” or taller (to ensure safe and ergonomic work over cheese tables)
- Ability to lift 40–50 lbs. and perform repetitive physical tasks
- No back or leg issues
- Reliable, consistent attendance and punctuality
- Great attitude and teamwork skills
- Must be a United States citizen
- Must speak and understand English
- Reliable transportation
- No jewelry of any kind may be worn while working
- Honesty and integrity are essential
