Performs semi-skilled jobs in a variety of trades, including but not limited to maintaining, repairing, and providing custodial services as assigned for the building, academic programs, and other college departments to ensure a clean, orderly, secure and welcoming environment for those in the building, as well as, ensure proper functioning of the campus.
Salary Range:
$20.51 - $29.22 Hourly
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of general methods and practices of a variety of trade areas (e.g. mechanics, masonry, welding, electrical, plumbing and carpentry) sufficient to assist licensed trades workers and to repair machinery, equipment, and facilities in a timely and safe manner.
- Knowledge of general methods and practices of custodial duties, cleaning chemicals, equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Ability to safely use hand and power hand tools.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain trucks, tractors, and other ground and road maintenance equipment.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying and bending.
- Communication skills needed to report status of building security and repairs to supervisor.
Preferred Qualification
- A Boiler’s License
- Ability to operate forklift.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety measures related to trades work sufficient to safely and efficiently perform the job duties.
- Adequate skills to operate the facility energy management system and preventative maintenance program.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures such as fire, tornadoes, bomb threats, etc.
- Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite
Other Requirements
