We provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, process, and controls engineering to clients in the government, higher education, healthcare, and manufacturing industries.
Henneman currently has a position open for an experienced mechanical engineer for a role in our Champaign, IL office. Ideally the candidate works in-office, but we are open to hybrid and remote arrangements.
Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Engineer:
- Perform work as a senior mechanical engineer in all aspects of project development, including client coordination, pre-design services, final design services, meetings, site visits, and project management.
- Conduct existing conditions surveys and prepare PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sections, elevations, and details as appropriate to document relevant conditions.
- Conceptualize the initial process, mechanical, and plumbing design approach for projects, having overall responsibility for the engineering and/or design work related to process, mechanical and plumbing systems, and code requirements.
- Coordinate, design, and schedule with other disciplines, such as architectural, structural, electrical, and controls to resolve a variety of complex problems (i.e., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).
- Organize and prepare process, mechanical, and plumbing construction drawings (PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sections, elevations, and details as appropriate), technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
- Develop engineering solutions and designs, cost estimates, bill of materials, and schedules for projects.
- Have knowledge of applicable codes and standards related to mechanical, piping, and plumbing systems.
Qualifications:
- Education: 4-Year Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited engineering school in the United States. Professional Engineer license is required.
- Experience: 15 years as a Mechanical Engineer in a similar MEP firm. Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is required.
Salary : $110,000 - $150,000
