What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inside Sales Representative position at Hendrick Manufacturing?
Duties: This position encompasses responsibility for developing and maintaining positive customer relations within the perforation manufacturing industries. The individual in this position would be responsible for handling specific accounts in our OEM, Mining and Aggregate and Distribution. The responsibilities would include quoting, order entry, communicating with the customer and handling the day to day activities for specific accounts.
Essential functions & responsibilities –
- Create quotes for existing and new accounts; quote follow up
- Enter purchase orders
- Provide order status updates to customer
- Negotiate, within prescribed limits, to secure orders and obtain competitive information for perforated customers
- Review all customer inquiries to establish necessary information to produce products that meet all customer specifications
- Meets with production and engineering staff to review customer requirements
- Determine best method to resolve problems ensuring both customer satisfaction and adherence to company polices
- Review formal orders to make sure that they match customer specifications
- Analyzes customer requirements/specifications to develop the estimate to meet defined margin requirements
- Actively seek to develop and maintain a positive working environment with all customers, including internal customers
- Provide customer service support to the sales representative in their efforts to acquire new or additional business
- Periodic travel to visit a key customer or key customer or potential customer
- Respond to customer request for information regarding order status
- Notify customer of potential delays in shipment and expedite orders as requested by the customer
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business preferred. High School Diploma with at least 7 years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
- 3 years of experience in a customer focused position
Qualifications Desired:
- 5 years in an industrial environment
- 5 years of experience in a business-to-business customer service role
- Sheet metal fabrication experience preferred
- Seek a solution to all customer complaints while maintaining good customer relations
- Obtain and retain a solid working knowledge of our perforated, fabricated, and punch manufactured products
- Possess the ability to interpret simplistic drawings from customers
- Possess the ability to operate ERP and applicable Microsoft Office applications following a reasonable hands-on training period
- Requires excellent telephone communication skills and telephone sales techniques
- Requires strong command of English language and proper grammar
- Requires ability to persuade and negotiate
