Position Available: Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Splunk)
Location: You can be based in Irving, TX OR Jacksonville, FL
Salary: $120,000 - $130,000
Experience needed: Strong hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Enterprise Security, including log onboarding, security monitoring, dashboards, alerts, and correlation rules. Strong SPL and scripting skills are also important.
About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to lead Splunk monitoring and security analytics activities within a large-scale enterprise divestiture program. This role will focus on maintaining effective security monitoring as systems and business entities are separated and transitioned.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Splunk monitoring, log onboarding, and security analytics activities
- Configure dashboards, alerts, correlation rules, and security reports
- Validate log ingestion, data quality, and monitoring coverage
- Support the separation and transition of Splunk monitoring capabilities
- Troubleshoot ingestion, indexing, alerting, and performance issues
- Identify monitoring gaps and coordinate remediation activities
- Produce runbooks, operational documentation, and audit evidence
What we need from you:
- Strong experience with Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Enterprise Security
- Expertise in log onboarding, parsing, normalization, dashboards, and alerts
- Strong knowledge of SIEM operations, threat detection, and security monitoring
- Experience working with infrastructure, application, network, IAM, endpoint, and cloud logs
- Proficiency in SPL and scripting using Python, PowerShell, or APIs
- Experience supporting monitoring transitions within a large enterprise environment
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
