Data Center Project Manager - Construction
Reporting to the Data Center Construction Director, the Data Center Project Manager - Construction will drive the planning, budgeting, and risk-management engine behind global data center projects. Partnering with Construction and Design teams, you will turn ambitious capacity targets into executable project plans and ensure stakeholders remain aligned from kickoff to customer handover.
This role is based in Austin, Texas with 50% travel. The firm is open to candidates relocating.
- Build integrated schedules (Primavera P6, MS Project) covering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning, and own execution of the master construction schedule from site mobilization through substantial completion and turnover
- Own project budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and change-order governance; report earned-value KPIs weekly
- Facilitate phase-gate and 30/60/90% design reviews; maintain RACI matrices and action logs
- Manage contract lifecycles including RFP, bid analysis, award, PCO tracking, and close-out documentation
- Identify critical-path and long-lead risks (transformers, chillers, switchgear) and drive mitigation plans
- Act as a single source of truth for internal leadership and external partners; publish clear, concise status reports
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to cross-functional project delivery teams, including project managers, construction managers, and superintendents
- Develop staffing plans, oversee performance management, and drive talent development within the project organization
- Lead project standups, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure accountability and continuous improvement
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline; construction management qualification preferred
- 10 years of project management experience in hyperscale data centers, large industrial, or infrastructure projects
- PMI-PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred
- Proven track record delivering fast-track projects across multiple geographies
- Strong knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical scopes
- Experience with procurement workflows and cost controls
- Advanced proficiency with scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project) and cost management tools (Procore, Ares, Excel)
- Experience with collaboration tools such as Smartsheet and Confluence
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to executive leadership and technical teams
- Experience building and scaling project teams across regions and time zones
- Strong leadership skills with ability to align technical and commercial stakeholders
- Willingness to travel 50% or more to active project sites
