Henderson Harbor Tax was established in 2009 as a specialized tax placement division of Henderson Harbor Group. Over the past 14 years, HHTax has successfully leveraged our vast network of tax professionals and our targeted industry knowledge to successfully advise careers and place professionals at every level from Tax Associates to Chief Tax Officers, and Tax Partners, in both private industry and public accounting. We service our clients primarily in the NYC area as well nationally through our AAFA network (45 financial staffing affiliates throughout the U.S. and Canada).
Our publicly traded technology client in NYC is seeking a tax provision expert to augment their outstanding tax team located in New York, NY. The opportunity offers competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and work/life balance as well as opportunities for growth and advancement.
Location: New York City, hybrid
Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for supporting the US Federal, State, and International tax matters related to ASC 740 tax provision preparation on a quarterly and annual basis, including FIN 48 and tax account reconciliations
- Assist in the review of the US federal, State, and Foreign tax return filings
- Support the US Federal and Foreign R&D tax credit processes
- Assist with all aspects of data gathering and analytics in support of the tax planning, transfer pricing, and audit functions
- Assist with maintaining the tax calendar to ensure timely payments and filings
- Identify, research and evaluate opportunities for the better application of technology to the tax function to streamline workflows, enhance analytics and improve output quality
- Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX 404) compliance process and ensure an effective tax control environment
- Cross functional collaboration among members of the Finance, Legal, HR, Product, and Technology teams
- Manage and work with local foreign teams to ensure timely filing of foreign income tax returns
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Accounting
- 10 years of relevant corporate tax provision experience
- Detail oriented with excellent organization and project management skills (process driven)
- Experience with Checkpoint, BNA, CCH, Office
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (Ability to communicate ideas to tax and non-tax personnel both verbally and in written format)
- Ability to multitask while staying focused in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in high-technology with an understanding of taxation issues arising in e-commerce and digital marketplace is preferred
Salary : $200,000 - $250,000
