Job Summary
Hemlock Contracting is a residential construction company specializing in decks, additions, and porches. We are seeking a motivated Junior Sales Associate to join our growing team as we expand from Massachusetts into Connecticut. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting new people, is comfortable attending in-person estimates, and is interested in building a career in construction sales. You will be the first point of contact for homeowners who call in for projects, attending on-site estimates, preparing and sending proposals, and helping guide projects from sale through completion. This is a paid position with a base salary plus commission, offering strong earning potential based on performance and jobs sold.
Daily Duties & Responsibilities
- Attend on-site estimates and walkthroughs for residential clients
- Meet with homeowners to discuss project needs, scope, and expectations
- Prepare, send, and follow up on estimates and proposals in a timely manner
- Track appointments and project timelines using Google Calendar
- Communicate consistently with clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Assist with project coordination to ensure smooth transitions from sale to production
- Order materials and coordinate deliveries or pickups when needed
- Ensure materials are on-site and ready as projects begin
- Request and collect Google reviews upon project completion
- Keep detailed notes on client interactions, estimates, and follow-ups
- Represent Hemlock Contracting professionally at all job sites and client meetings
Sales & Client Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound client inquiries and attend scheduled estimates
- Clearly explain project scope, timelines, and pricing
- Build trust and long-term relationships with homeowners
- Identify opportunities to upsell or recommend additional services
- Maintain strong client relationships to encourage referrals and repeat business
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable driving to job sites and meeting homeowners
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple estimates at once
- Basic knowledge of residential construction (or willingness to learn)
- Sales, customer service, or estimating experience preferred
- Comfortable using email, Google Calendar, and basic software tools
- Professional phone and email etiquette
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and follow-through
Compensation & Growth Opportunity
