Why our Marketing Director is Important:


The Director of Marketing leads the strategic direction, development, and execution of all marketing, branding, and communication initiatives across the parent company and its three subsidiaries. This role ensures a cohesive brand presence while recognizing the unique identity and business goals of each entity.


This is a strategic, hands-on role responsible for overseeing marketing campaigns, corporate communications, community engagement, and events. The Director manages outsourced PR efforts, leads a small team, and works closely with executive leadership to strengthen brand awareness, support business growth, and enhance stakeholder engagement across Hawaii.


Essential Duties


Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy aligned with organizational goals across all entities
  • Partner with executive leadership to position the company as a trusted leader in the insurance industry and local community
  • Ensure consistent branding while appropriately differentiating each subsidiary
  • Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscape to inform strategy


Brand & Communications Management

  • Oversee brand standards and ensure consistency across all internal and external communications
  • Direct development of marketing materials including digital content, print collateral, presentations, and advertising
  • Manage corporate messaging, public relations, and media relations
  • Oversee website content, social media presence, and digital marketing efforts


Community & Corporate Engagement

  • Lead community relations and corporate social responsibility initiatives, including coordination with the company’s foundation
  • Oversee sponsorships, partnerships, and community events to enhance brand visibility and reputation
  • Ensure alignment of community efforts with company values and strategic priorities


Events & Internal Engagement

  • Provide oversight and direction for corporate events, client functions, and internal employee engagement initiatives
  • Supervise planning and execution of events in collaboration with the Marketing Specialist
  • Support internal communications that promote culture, engagement, and alignment across the organization


Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise and mentor the Marketing Specialist
  • Provide clear direction, prioritize workload, and support professional development
  • Assess future marketing staffing needs and recommend resources as appropriate

 

Project & Budget Management

  • Develop and manage the marketing budget across all entities
  • Prioritize initiatives to maximize impact and efficiency within a lean team structure
  • Oversee vendor relationships, including agencies, printers, media partners

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Underwriting, HR, Claims, Agency Relations and Executive leadership to support business initiatives
  • Provide marketing support for new products, services, and organizational initiatives
  • Ensure alignment and communication across all entities


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred), or comparable experience
  • 8–10 years of progressive marketing experience, including leadership experience
  • Experience managing multi-brand or multi-entity marketing strategies preferred
  • Strong understanding of both traditional and digital marketing channels
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or regulated industries is a plus
  • Strong strategic thinking with ability to execute tactically
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across different entities
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Collaborative leadership style with a hands-on approach
  • Understanding of Hawaii’s business environment and community landscape preferred
