About Hemab

Hemab is building preventative treatments for serious, underserved bleeding disorders. These are therapies designed to work with the body's own biology and stop bleeds before they start, instead of treating them after they happen. Our pipeline spans more than one mechanism and modality, because the patients we're built for don't all fit the same one. Many of the conditions we work on affect women's health specifically, and they've gone overlooked for far longer than they should have - we're a patient-first, science-led, clinical-stage company.

We went public via our 2026 IPO, and we're scaling across two homes: Cambridge, MA and Copenhagen, Denmark.

The role

This role owns end-to-end medical strategy for one or more Hemab pipeline assets, spanning Glanzmann thrombasthenia, von Willebrand disease, Factor VII deficiency, or heavy menstrual bleeding. You'll translate the biology of the coagulation cascade into the medical narrative that shapes how clinicians, investigators, payers, and patients understand the disease, and carry an asset's evidence and engagement plan from late-stage development through launch.

What you'll do

  • Own the integrated medical strategy for a Hemab asset across its lifecycle, from late-stage development through launch, anchored to the OGSM and the medical affairs tactical plans that come from it.
  • Serve as the medical voice on the Asset Team, integrating field intelligence into study design, endpoint selection, and target product profile refinement.
  • Architect the evidence-generation roadmap with Clinical Development, Market Access, and Biostatistics, spanning natural history registries (GT360, VWD360, FVIID360), real-world evidence, and post-approval commitments.
  • Build and steward the global KOL and investigator network, and design advisory boards, scientific exchange, and congress strategy across meetings such as ISTH, ASH, and EAHAD.
  • Partner with Regulatory, Clinical Development, and Clinical Operations across the Asset Team to maintain one scientifically rigorous asset narrative.
  • Lead the publication and scientific communications plan for the asset.
  • Provide scientific direction and materials to MSLs, without owning their day-to-day field management.

What you'll bring to Hemab

  • Advanced clinical or scientific degree: MD, PharmD, or PhD.
  • 8 years in Medical Affairs, or a combination of Medical Affairs and Clinical Development, including asset or program medical leadership.
  • Demonstrated ownership of medical strategy, evidence planning, KOL development, advisory boards, and publication strategy
  • Fluency in ICMJE and GPP standards and scientific-exchange compliance.
  • Ability to translate complex coagulation science into credible, balanced narratives for varied audiences.

Nice to have

  • Rare disease, hematology, OB/GYN, or specialty therapeutics experience.
  • Late-stage development and launch experience.
  • Experience building or scaling a field medical function.

What to expect, honestly

Hemab is still building a lot of its own structure. Systems here tend to get created as we need them, not handed down in advance. Whoever takes this role will likely build some of their own process instead of inheriting a finished one. We work across two hubs and multiple time zones - bridging that well takes real, deliberate effort. And because we're growing quickly, priorities can shift with less notice than they would at a larger, more established company.

This is the actual shape of working somewhere at this stage: It's genuinely energising for the right person and genuinely frustrating for the wrong one. If you want a place where the operating manual is already written, this might not be it – but if you want to help write it, this might be exactly it.

Why Hemab

At Hemab, your work ultimately connects back to something simple. People living with serious bleeding disorders get something they've never had before: the chance to prevent a bleed instead of reacting to one after it happens. You'll be joining at a stage where individual decisions still carry real weight, and where your work can help turn promising science into a preventative treatment that actually reaches patients.

How we treat our people is meant to be an extension of how we think about patients: with care, honesty, and respect. We're still building the consistency to back that up across every hiring process, every time. We'd say that plainly instead of pretending otherwise. If any part of your experience with us falls short of it, tell us.
