About Hemab

Hemab is building preventative treatments for serious, underserved bleeding disorders. These are therapies designed to work with the body's own biology and stop bleeds before they start, instead of treating them after they happen. We're a patient-first, science-led, clinical-stage company: Our pipeline spans more than one mechanism and modality, because the patients we're built for don't all fit the same one.

We went public via our 2026 IPO, and we're scaling across two homes: Cambridge, MA and Copenhagen, Denmark.

The role

Hemab is seeking an experienced Vice President, Investor Relations & Corporate Communications to run the company’s day-to-day investor relations and to build and lead its external and internal communications functions. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and partnering closely with the CEO and the broader executive team, this individual will shape and execute Hemab’s IR and communications strategy, establishing best practices and a consistent narrative across the many audiences we serve, from employees and investors to patients, media, and the broader scientific community.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can operate strategically alongside senior leadership while building the infrastructure a growing clinical-stage biotech needs. As Vice President, you will manage the day-to-day investor relations function in partnership with the CFO and outside IR firm, own communications across platforms (delivering effective, dynamic, authentic, data-grounded content and campaigns), oversee Hemab’s communications agency, and lead internal communications. Principal investor and analyst engagement will continue to be led by the CEO and CFO, with the VP preparing, supporting, and ensuring consistency across all investor-facing activity.

What you'll do

  • Build and lead Hemab's communications function, bringing work that currently sits across several teams into a clear, effective model with strong ownership.
  • Turn complex science, clinical data and company milestones into accurate, compelling communications for patients, physicians, employees, media and investors, working particularly closely with Medical Affairs.
  • Set Hemab's corporate narrative and communications agenda, creating the messaging, content and forward calendar that allow us to communicate proactively rather than milestone by milestone.
  • Run day-to-day investor relations around the CEO and CFO, strengthening our IR calendar, materials, investor preparation and ways of working while they continue to lead principal investor and analyst relationships.
  • Build the public-company communications capabilities Hemab now needs, including earnings communications, corporate presentations, SEC-related communications, disclosure controls and preparation for future events such as R&D days.
  • Lead external communications across media, corporate channels and executive communications, using evidence and audience response to decide where Hemab should spend its time.
  • Build internal communications that help colleagues across Cambridge and Copenhagen understand where Hemab is going and stay connected as the company grows, partnering with People and Culture on employer brand where needed.
  • Lead external IR and communications partners and work closely with Finance, Legal, Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Clinical and People and Culture to make sure communications are accurate, coordinated and useful.

What you'll bring to Hemab

  • Senior communications leadership experience in biotech, with evidence that you've built or significantly developed a communications capability rather than simply inherited one.
  • The ability to understand complex scientific and clinical information and turn it into clear communications without losing accuracy or nuance.
  • Experience working closely with Medical Affairs, clinical or scientific colleagues on data-driven communications.
  • Meaningful public-company investor relations experience, including familiarity with SEC disclosure requirements, Reg FD and investor-facing communications.
  • Experience advising CEOs, CFOs or other senior leaders on communications, investor messaging and sensitive public-facing decisions.
  • Strong writing and editorial judgement across scientific, corporate, investor and employee audiences.

Nice to have

  • Experience in a clinical-stage or growth-stage biotech environment
  • Experience with public-company investor relations for a Nasdaq listed life sciences company, including SEC disclosure (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K) and Reg FD compliance
  • Experience building communications or investor relations functions and infrastructure from the ground up
  • Experience with bleeding or clotting disorders, rare disease, orphan drug, or patient advocacy communications

Key Skills

  • Strategic, critical thinker with strong executive presence and the ability to counsel senior leaders
  • Data-driven approach to content, campaign, and channel strategy
  • Excellent judgment on messaging consistency, tone, and reputational risk
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Collaborative, hands-on style suited to a fast-paced, growing organization
  • Proficiency in using AI tools to enhance productivity and content quality
  • Ability to work effectively across a global organization spanning U.S. and European offices

What to expect, honestly

Hemab is still building a lot of its own structure. Systems here tend to get created as we need them, not handed down in advance. Whoever takes this role will likely build some of their own process instead of inheriting a finished one. We work across two hubs and multiple time zones - bridging that well takes real, deliberate effort. And because we're growing quickly, priorities can shift with less notice than they would at a larger, more established company.

This is the actual shape of working somewhere at this stage: It's genuinely energising for the right person and genuinely frustrating for the wrong one. If you want a place where the operating manual is already written, this might not be it – but if you want to help write it, this might be exactly it.

Why Hemab

At Hemab, your work ultimately connects back to something simple. People living with serious bleeding disorders get something they've never had before: the chance to prevent a bleed instead of reacting to one after it happens. You'll be joining at a stage where individual decisions still carry real weight, and where your work can help turn promising science into a preventative treatment that actually reaches patients.

How we treat our people is meant to be an extension of how we think about patients: with care, honesty, and respect. We're still building the consistency to back that up across every hiring process, every time. We'd say that plainly instead of pretending otherwise. If any part of your experience with us falls short of it, tell us.

Hemab builds balanced candidate slates and assesses everyone against a single standard. If you need a reasonable adjustment at any stage of the hiring process, please tell us.
