Duties
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance to foster a respectful and safe environment
- Support teachers with lesson implementation, play-based learning, and developmental assessments
- Ensure the safety of children through vigilant supervision and adherence to safety protocols including pediatric first aid and CPR procedures
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's day, progress, and any concerns while maintaining confidentiality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials and play areas
- Follow mandated reporting laws by recognizing signs of child abuse or neglect and reporting appropriately when necessary
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or similar caregiving roles is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Classroom experience in early childhood settings or daycare centers enhances your ability to adapt quickly
- Familiarity with child supervision techniques, behavior management strategies, and classroom management tools
- Certification in first aid and CPR (pediatric first aid preferred) or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
