What You’ll Do

As Director of Social Services, you’ll lead a social services team providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct supervision to Case Managers and Recreation Specialists, ensuring the delivery of quality and appropriate services to clients through case conferences, team meetings, supervision, and case record reviews.
- Developing and monitoring service linkages for medical and mental health care, immigration legal services, childcare, school registration and related services, ESL instruction, interpretation and translation services, and other services as needed.
- Ensuring a smooth handoff from the Intake process to the Case Management team.
- Identifying changing program needs and program gaps and developing new services, service directions, and/or programs to meet client needs.
- Identifying staff development issues and ensuring staff receive appropriate training as needed.
- Managing a small caseload as needed.
- Master's degree in social work or related field preferred, with a Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum five years of management experience, including management of a team providing services to people experiencing homelessness.
- Bilingual fluency in a second language, ideally Spanish/English.
- Experience working with the NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS) and knowledge of CARES are strongly preferred.
