Role Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Project Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing accurate estimates that support our bids and ensure the successful execution of projects. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a strong internal team and build relationships with General Contractors across the region.
What You’ll Do
- Perform detailed 3D take-offs based on construction documents, including blueprints, specifications, and addenda.
- Accurately calculate all material, labor, and overhead required for each project.
- Submit proposals to General Contractors after completing take-offs and receiving internal review.
- Participate in job transfer meetings, presenting material quantities, labor budgets, and overhead allocations to Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Superintendents.
- Collaborate closely with Project Superintendents and Project Managers to ensure they fully understand the scope and requirements before mobilization.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for internal staff and General Contractors, answering project-related questions clearly and confidently.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy, organization, and communication throughout the bid and handoff process.
- Work occasional extended hours as needed to meet bid deadlines.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management (or a related field) from a reputable institution.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Experience with CAD software used for 3D take-offs.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service and building strong working relationships.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Prior estimating experience is a plus, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong potential and a willingness to learn.
