What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Clinical Nurse Injector — Aesthetics, GLP-1, Vitamins & IV (Oswego) position at Hello Gorgeous Medical Spa?
Job title: Aesthetic Nurse Injector (RN) — Neurotoxins & Dermal Fillers
The role
Our Medical Director is Dr. Mukesh Arora, MD. The owner is an RN student and cannot train or precept injectables, IVs, or weight-loss shots. Our previous clinician is no longer here. We need an experienced nurse who can walk in and run the medical chair.
You are the person clients see for:
- Aesthetic injectables — neurotoxin and filler, natural results, complication-aware
- Weight-loss / GLP-1 injections — semaglutide or tirzepatide only after a clinician exam and a written order (molecule mg). You draw and inject that dose. You do not pick the dose, titrate, or “just add a little.”
- Vitamin Bar / wellness shots — B12, MIC / lipotropic, biotin, glutathione, NAD shots; drive-thru and in-office
- IV therapy — start and monitor drips (hydration, immunity, custom bags, NAD infusions). Screen, stay with the patient, stop for red flags
- Charting — every shot and every bag: product, lot, BUD, site, dose, tolerance, hard-stop questions
- Client care — this is a boutique clinic, not a mill. No outcome promises. Compounded meds are not FDA-approved; you say that when it applies
Illinois adults 21 only. Front desk books and takes payment. You do not “approve” a medical shot because someone already paid.
What I expect, every shift
- You are ready to inject and start IVs this month, with the skills you already have
- You work from written protocols and orders (good-faith exam first — you do not treat walk-in GLP-1 or IVs with no chart)
- Hard stops are real: pregnancy, unlabeled / patient-brought vials, wrong dose on the ticket, red-flag belly pain, allergy — you stop and call Dr. Arora. You do not push through
- First in-clinic dose of a new GLP-1 molecule: 15-minute observation
- Missed GLP-1 dose: you do not double. You call the ordering clinician
- Vitamin and IV products match the order. No mixing “a little extra NAD” because the client asked
- Rooms stay clean. Emergency kit (including epinephrine) is checked. You know 911 first, then the physician
- You document before the client leaves
- You are kind, on time, and you do not freelance on social as “the injector from Hello Gorgeous” while you job-hunt
If you are an Illinois APRN with prescriptive authority, say so in the first line of your email. That is strongly preferred — you can also run consults and write the orders Dr. Arora oversees. If you are an RN, you administer only. You do not prescribe.
You are the fit if
- Illinois RN or APRN in good standing — license in hand
- You are currently injecting (toxin/filler and comfort with IM/SQ wellness shots). IVs are a regular part of your practice, not a weekend course you haven’t used
- GLP-1 shots are familiar: draw-up from a labeled vial, mg from the order, site rotation
- You want one clinic home
- You can work clinic hours in Oswego (days; some evenings as the book needs)
- You stay. You don’t use our rooms, our protocols, and our clients to learn and leave
You are not the fit if
- You need shadowing, mentoring, or “it’s been a while”
- You inject at another med spa, mobile gig, or IV bar at the same time
- You want us to teach you lasers first so you can ease into needles
- You are an MA, esthetician, or student
- You expect the owner to precept you (out of scope)
Conflict of interest: While you work here you do not inject or run IVs for another med spa or aesthetic practice. One chair. Ours. We’ve had too many people build a book here and leave. We will not do that again.
What we give you
- Established downtown Oswego clinic and client flow
- Medical Director, written GLP-1 / vitamin / IV protocols, product, and front desk
- A real medical chair — aesthetics and wellness, not toxin-only
- Room to grow a loyal book here
Pay: $41.41 - $49.87 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
Benefits:
