The Field Supervisor is an essential component of the day-to-day operations of the field staff.
This position serves as a primary resource for flaggers, facilitate crew dispatch, and audit job sites to ensure STS sites will meet and exceed expectations of traffic safety compliance.
The incumbent will also partner with local Safety Coordinator, Project Managers, and Assistant Manager.

The Field Supervisor is an essential component of the day-to-day operations of the field staff.
This position serves as a primary resource for flaggers, facilitate crew dispatch, and audit job sites to ensure STS sites will meet and exceed expectations of traffic safety compliance.
The incumbent will also partner with local Safety Coordinator, Project Managers, and Assistant Manager.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for training and coaching employees on company policies and procedures.
- Audits Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) job sites to ensure safety and upholding STS standards.
- Conducts pre-trip inspections.
- Reviews adjust schedule based of the need or complexity of a project site.
- Develop and motivate flaggers to progress through the tier system.
- Regularly reports attendance, behavioral and performance patterns to upper management.
- Responds to employee inquiries and provide solutions for field or equipment issues that may arise.
- Builds and maintain rapport with the Client/Foreman.
- Conducts accident and incident reports as they occur in the field.
- Facilitate truck check-in and maintain daily gas card, keys, and tablet inventory.
- Collect all the post trips and hazardous analysis from the previous day and forward for filing.
- Responsible for transferring employees to and from jobs sites for relief and support.
- Prepare equipment for night jobs as requested.
- Identify and recommend top performing flaggers for high priority, complex jobs.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D
- Minimum of one (1) year experience of being a flagger
- Knowledge of maintenance of traffic, a must
- Able to problem solve efficiently
- Excellent time management
- Able to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to instruct with employees of different backgrounds.
- Experience with technology such as computer and tablets and Microsoft Office products.
- Walking throughout Work Zones
- Ability to travel in truck from job to job using truck as an office.
- Must be able to drive for a long period of time
- Activities require a significant amount of sitting in the driver’s seat of the truck
- Outside Weather
- Oversee and audit jobs in all kinds of weather
- Willing and able to travel occasionally including nights
- Relieving crews for breaks, on occasion
