AR SPECIALIST
Job Description
Job Summary
Highway Specialties is an established and growing Northwest leader in traffic control safety equipment sales and rentals. As the AR Specialist, you will Provide customer service and invoicing, receive payments, and collect on past due accounts Etc.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Invoicing, prepare customer invoices, and create credit memos based on accounting procedures
- Payment processing: enter and process daily deposits into ERP by matching payments to invoice numbers and ensuring accuracy.
- Customer service: Interact with a variety of clients to distribute invoices, explain billing specifications, collect overdue payments and addressing questions or concerns
- Biling issues: Research and investigate invoice discrepancies, handle customer inquiries, and work with other departments to resolve billing disputes
- Reporting: Generate receivable reports and create & maintain weekly AR tracking reports for management review
- Provide quick action on time-sensitive issues.
- Create customer relationships.
- Gain product knowledge and learn industry terms.
- Ledgers: Managing accounts receivable ledgers & files
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and company policies
- Must be 18 years or older
- Associate’s degree in accounting or 3 years’ experience in accounting
- General knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- General understanding and experience with ERP systems like Sage and Net Suite
- Moderate skill level in Excel, Word, and other MS Office applications
- Strong Verbal and written communication skills, self-motivated, organized and detail driven
- Have reliable transportation to and from work
