Position Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and mission-driven Activity Coordinator to design and deliver engaging recreational, therapeutic, and pre-vocational activities that enhance participants’ quality of life. This role combines recreation and vocational development—helping participants explore, prepare for, and maintain community-based employment opportunities aligned with their skills and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate daily, weekly, and monthly recreational, wellness, and life skills activities tailored to participant interests and abilities.
- Develop individualized activity and employment plans in alignment with DDA person-centered plans (PCPs).
- Support participants in developing work readiness skills such as time management, communication, teamwork, and task completion.
- Partner with employers, job coaches, and community organizations to identify meaningful employment opportunities.
- Accompany and support participants during volunteer or job experiences as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation, attendance, and progress notes per COMAR and DDA standards.
- Organize special events, outings, and workshops that foster socialization, independence, and employment growth.
- Collaborate with program managers, direct support staff, and families to ensure consistent participant support.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- At least 2-3 years of experience in activity coordination, vocational support, or direct care for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Familiarity with DDA guidelines, employment services, and person-centered planning.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Reliable transportation for community-based activities.

- Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Weekends for community events or employment activities
