Electrical Test Technician – Load Bank

Helix Electric is seeking a dynamic Electrical Technician to join our production‑driven team. The successful candidate will perform electrical installations, load bank operations, and troubleshooting in both field and shop environments.

Duties & Scope

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components
• Perform load bank setup, testing, monitoring, and teardown
• Conduct electrical testing and inspections to ensure performance and compliance
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
• Identify issues and implement corrective actions efficiently
• Follow all safety standards, company policies, and OSHA regulations
• Work independently and collaboratively to complete projects on schedule
  
  

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands‑on electrical experience
• Proven load banking experience (required)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work in both field and shop environments
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Electrical certifications, completed apprenticeship, or technical training
  
  

Physical Demands

• Work in all elements depending on job location and time of year (heat, cold, rain, snow)
• Wear required personal protective equipment at all times (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves; respirator when required)
• Ability to work 8–10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, including overtime and night shifts as required
• Perform essential physical functions including crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching
• Routinely lift objects in excess of 50 pounds and push/pull heavy materials
• Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
• Physical labor makes up more than 70% of the role
