Job Summary:
The Material Handler/Box Truck Driver performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies. From time to time, this position will also be responsible for transporting goods around each facility utilizing a medium-sized box truck.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists with or oversees loading and unloading of goods
- Delivers WIP (Work in Process) material to various departments to support the manufacturing process
- Examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify
- Completes paperwork or forms required for documentation
- Determines method of replenishment utilizing knowledge of procedures and routes
- Preparing materials from storage to assembly line
- Operates material handling equipment such as part carts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage
- Inspects the vehicle pre- and post-trip
