Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting daily facility and manufacturing operations through preventative maintenance, coolant management, scrap handling, and general facility upkeep. This role helps maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment by performing routine maintenance tasks throughout the facility and machining areas.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Change and maintain machine coolant systems according to established schedules and procedures.

Remove scrap metal, chips, and waste material from machining and production areas.

Weigh, sort, document, and catalog scrap material for inventory and recycling purposes.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of manufacturing work areas, maintenance areas, and facility spaces.

Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on facility equipment and systems.

Assist with HVAC preventative maintenance including filter changes, cleaning, and basic upkeep.

Perform basic facility repairs including minor plumbing, painting, lighting replacement, furniture assembly, and general handyman tasks.

Support maintenance activities related to machines, tooling, and production equipment as directed.

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, floor scrubbers, or other equipment as authorized and trained.

Monitor facility conditions and report equipment issues, safety concerns, or maintenance needs.

Assist with building upkeep including exterior grounds, walkways, and warehouse organization.

Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and environmental guidelines.

Maintain accurate maintenance and scrap documentation as required.

Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives throughout the facility.

Perform other duties as assigned to support operations and facility needs.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools.

Ability to follow written instructions, maintenance schedules, and safety procedures.

Comfortable working around manufacturing equipment and machining operations.

Basic computer and documentation skills preferred.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Previous experience in manufacturing, maintenance, facilities, or industrial environments preferred.

Prior experience with preventative maintenance is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, feel/reach with hands/arms, talk and hear.
The employee frequently is required to sit and walk. The employee is occasionally required to bend and stop, push and pull, reach above shoulder level, kneel, squat, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
