What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse (Rehab) (WOCN Cert. Required)- Per diem position at Helen Hayes Hospital?
This is not a direct care giver role. instead, the selected candidate will act as a consultant focusing on patients with chronic or complex wounds in an inpatient rehabilitation setting., to improve the overall quality of life for patients and their families.
- Assess wounds to determine their nature and severity,
and develop treatment plans to promote healing and prevent infection.
- Works as part of a multidisciplinary team, including
physicians, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, social workers, and therapists,
to ensure comprehensive care and to optimize patient outcomes.
- Provides guidance and training to patients, families,
and other caregivers on proper wound care techniques, infection
prevention, and pressure ulcer prevention strategies.
- Stays updated on the latest wound care research,
techniques, products, and technologies
- Provides recommendations for an evidence-based wound
care regimen and enters orders approved by the provider.
Requirements
- Valid
New York State nursing license.
- 3
years of nursing experience with wound care hand-on experience
- Medical-surgery experience preferred
- Specialized Wound Care Certification required
