We are seeking a subject matter expert in debit card processing conversions, specially with Fiserv, acting as a Business Systems Analyst to support our banking client’s high visibility debit card processing conversion from a home grown system to Fiserv. This role goes well beyond traditional requirements gathering. The ideal candidate will act as the go to conversion expert, a designer and translator, bridging business, technical, and vendor teams to deliver a stable, well designed debit processing solution.

We are seeking a subject matter expert in debit card processing conversions, specially with Fiserv, acting as a Business Systems Analyst to support our banking client’s high visibility debit card processing conversion from a home grown system to Fiserv. This role goes well beyond traditional requirements gathering. The ideal candidate will act as the go to conversion expert, a designer and translator, bridging business, technical, and vendor teams to deliver a stable, well designed debit processing solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead conversion focused analysis, including:
- Pre cutover, dual run, and post cutover designs
- Error handling, exception flows, and fallback scenarios
- Own and create end-to-end debit solution designs across internal systems, Fiserv platforms, and card networks.
- Create and validate:
- System interaction diagrams (issuer systems Fiserv card networks merchants)
- Data mapping designs (field level mappings, codes, reason codes)
- Make design decisions that balance:
- Business needs
- Fiserv platform constraints
- Risk and regulatory considerations
- Customer experience and impact
- Act as the primary liaison and translator between business stakeholders, technology teams, and Fiserv during the conversion.
- Proactively identify risks and mitigate issues related to:
- Authorization and settlement failures
- Posting errors
- Customer impact and Reg E considerations
- Create clear, high?quality documentation to support:
- System design reviews
- Test planning and execution
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Actively participate in and support UAT execution and defect resolution.
- 12 years of experience. SME level for debit card processing and acting as a BSA or equivalent role
- Fiserv debit card processing experience
- Deep understanding of debit card processing, including:
- Authorization, clearing, and settlement flows
- POS vs. ATM transactions
- PIN vs. signature debit
- Stand?in processing
- Card network flows (Visa, Mastercard, STAR, NYCE, etc.)
- Fraud, disputes, chargebacks, and transaction reversals
- Proven ability to produce and defend design artifacts, including:
- End to end debit transaction process flows
- System interaction diagrams
- Detailed data mapping documentation
- Conversion state designs (pre cutover through post cutover)
- Error handling and exception flow designs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be confident, articulate, and able to lead conversations
- This is not a role for a wallflower or a passive/meek personality

- Zephyr or other test management tools
- Experience supporting or coordinating automated testing
