Business Systems Analyst (Contract)

Location: Minneapolis, Chicago, Evansville — open to strong remote candidates with deep Abrigo expertise

Overview

We’re seeking a Business Systems Analyst who can step in quickly to document business requirements, develop clear test cases, and support a team in the middle of a transformation toward more Agile ways of working. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, document, and manage detailed business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop test cases and support testing cycles to ensure solutions meet business needs.
• Create process flows, diagrams, and documentation to support business and technical teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners working in Sprints (team is evolving toward Agile but not fully there).
• Help identify and resolve business problems through structured analysis and critical thinking.
• Work with stakeholders to clarify needs and ensure alignment on solution outcomes.
  
  
  

Top Skills & Experience

• Requirements documentation & test case development (must-have).
• Strong problem-solving ability — must be able to describe approaches and past examples of solving business problems.
• Experience working in environments moving toward Agile; comfortable operating with some ambiguity.
• Ability to build clear flowcharts, process maps, and structured documentation.
• Experience writing high-quality user stories, requirements, and test cases.
  
  
  

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Abrigo platform experience (highly preferred but not required; candidates with strong Abrigo experience will receive priority).
• Experience with commercial banking platforms.
