The Application Engineering Manager is responsible for managing and training the Application Engineering team at Heitek Automation. In this role the manager will work closely with the engineering team and with sales management to increase engineering engagement in the sales process. Working with marketing, this person will work to convey strong technical competency by demonstrating our technical value through white papers, video walkthroughs, and technical training.

Essential Functions
Reports to: Director of Engineering

Collaborates with: Materials Team, Sales Team, Engineering Team, Operations Team, Executive Team
Key Responsibilities:

• Periodically travel to different branches to do joint sales calls with the application team and work on application sales tactics
• Track and monitor partner certification requirements and make they are met on a quarterly basis
• Provide plan’s for when changes to the team require you to catch up on certifications
• Define a tracking and reporting method for utilization on application engineering supported sales calls
• Collaborate with marketing to drive SIPEC initiatives across the organization
• Define and drive generation of white papers and technical videos of core products
  
  
  
  

Key Competencies & Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical designs of automation and control systems
• Extensive experience in automation application field sales
• Maintain a strong work ethic and capacity to thrive in a team environment
• Excel in both verbal and written communications
• Effectively and efficiently use Microsoft software (Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and business software used by the company
• Knowledge of ERP, CRM, and QMS systems
  
  
  
  

Experience, Education And Skills
Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited University or Equivalent Experience
  
  
  
  

Experience:

• 5 years of experience in engineering or related field
• 2 years of leadership or team management experience
