Hegira Health, Inc. (HHI), a private non-profit corporation, is one of the largest freestanding behavioral healthcare agencies in the area. HHI, accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the State of Michigan, provides a broad array of mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention services to individuals of all ages.
Oakdale Recovery Center works with clients in our in-patient facility for SUD. The position works Monday through Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 or more years personal recovery experience
- CCAR (Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery) certificate
- One year Peer Recovery Coach experience
- Certified Peer Recovery Mentor (CPRM) Development Plan through MCBAP or obtain within 30 days of hire
- Possess a Chauffer’s license (or obtain one at time of hire)
- Strong computer skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help to initiate and sustain individuals in recovery from substance abuse use disorder through a non-clinical, peer-based support program, following established HHI guidelines and processes.
- Complete face-to-face screenings for clients using standardized screening tools.
- Complete documentation on all client contacts made or initiated.
- Complete Care Plans with clients as needed.
- Assist clients by making warm connections/transfers to services both internal and external.
- Monitor daily referral notifications and arrange same-day introduction meeting with clients during shift.
- Facilitate contacts and provide warm transfers with appropriate support organizations, and support people to promote positive influences on clients.
- Support the activities of other programs and HHI staff in assisting the client with their treatment plan goals.
- Provide outreach, education, informal counseling, social support, and advocacy for clients.
- Screen for appropriateness into SUDHH program through this position.
- Coordinate care and transitions for services for clients from Residential/Withdrawal Management to SUD Health Home or other levels of care.
- Support HHI’s core missions of Wellness First, Zero-Suicide and Trauma Informed services.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
