About the Firm:
Heckscher, Teillon, Terrill & Sager, a boutique trusts and estates law firm located in West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia, seeks a full-time associate attorney to join our Orphans’ Court Litigation team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented litigator to work in a dynamic and growing environment, focusing on meaningful cases that impact families and estates.
Qualified Candidate Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in litigation, with a demonstrated track record of successful outcomes.
- Experience in the Pennsylvania state court system, including drafting pleadings, motions and briefs, document review and drafting discovery requests and responses.
- Strong understanding of the litigation processes is a must; knowledge of probate law, estate planning and guardianship issues a plus.
- Excellent academic credentials, research, writing and analytical skills, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and empathy.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
- Expertise in estate and trust law not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in Orphans’ Court proceedings, including matters related to estate disputes, guardianships, and trust administration.
- Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to clients navigating complex estate, trust, and guardianship issues.
- Draft and review legal documents, including petitions, motions, and briefs.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and decision-making.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys, partners and clients to develop case strategies and represent clients in court hearings and trials.
- Manage caseload efficiently while maintaining high standards of client service and attention to detail.
