Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swim Instructor with current WSI certification to join our team who will provide instruction and oversee the swim program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching swimming and ensuring the safety of all participants in the water. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality swim instruction to individuals of varying skill levels, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting water safety.
Camp is in session June 26 through Aug. 19 with a one week break (July 15-22). Hours are Mon.-Thurs. 9:30am-3:30pm except for trip days when hours are modified according to the trip.
Duties
Conduct swim lessons for individuals and groups, adapting instruction to meet the needs of each participant.
Ensure the safety of all swimmers by monitoring activities in and around the pool area.
Supervising the swim program by ensuring that lifegurads are fulfilling their duties
Provide guidance on proper swimming techniques and skills development.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area, including performing routine pool cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Assist in emergency situations by administering first aid or CPR as needed.
Work with our swim consultant to provide an optimum swimming experience for campers
All applicants must:
Current valid WSI Certification
Possess current Red Cross lifeguard training certification or equivalent
Have ability to apply learned skills to actual situations
Proficient in swimming techniques with a strong ability to teach diverse age groups.
A positive attitude, patience, and enthusiasm for working with individuals in a camp setting.
Have the ability to follow directions and interact well with staff and campers
