Head Baseball Coach / Assistant Football Coach

Job Summary

The Head Baseball Coach is responsible for leading and developing the school's baseball program while serving as an assistant coach in the football program. This position is expected to promote academic success, character development, sportsmanship, and athletic excellence while building positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, staff, and the community. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other coaches to support a comprehensive athletic program and encourage multi-sport participation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the baseball program, including practices, contests, off-season development, and program promotion.
• Develop and implement strategies that foster skill development, competitiveness, discipline, teamwork, and character.
• Serve as an assistant football coach and fulfill responsibilities assigned by the Head Football Coach.
• Promote and support academic achievement and monitor student-athlete eligibility requirements.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes and maintain compliance with all school, conference, AAA, and district policies.
• Manage program logistics, including scheduling, budgeting, inventory, fundraising, equipment maintenance, and facility care.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, administration, faculty, and community members.
• Encourage and support multi-sport participation while collaborating with other coaches to maximize student-athlete development.
• Coordinate and support strength and conditioning efforts as an integral component of athletic performance and injury prevention.
• Represent the school and athletic department in a professional manner at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and Building Principal.

Qualifications

• Valid Arkansas Teaching License with certification in Social Studies.
• Valid Arkansas coaching endorsement or ability to obtain one.
• Previous high school baseball coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of baseball fundamentals, player development, and program management.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to education-based athletics and the development of the whole student-athlete.
• Commitment to strength and conditioning as a critical component of athletic development.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during the athletic season.
• Has a current CDL or the ability to obtain one.
