The Summer Market Events Coordinator plays a key role in assisting with the planning, organizing, and executing of city-sponsored events, primarily the Thursday evening markets. This position supports the City's mission to foster community engagement, enhance public services, and promote civic pride through well-coordinated and efficient Thursday evening markets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a point of contact for event logistics, vendor coordination, permits, and scheduling.
- Collaborate with city departments, community partners, and volunteers to ensure successful event execution.
- Provide tactical support, including scheduling, correspondence, recordkeeping, and meeting coordination.
- Answer questions from the general public, vendors, suppliers, and visitors of the Thursday evening markets.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support city operations and community engagement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong organizational and coordinating skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including Thursday evenings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Heber City business locations, municipal services, and community events.
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency skills are preferred.
An equivalent combination of education, abilities, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of Heber City events, locations, and municipal resources.
Must be polite, courteous, and helpful when providing information.
Ability to exercise initiative, and independent judgment, and to act resourcefully under varying conditions, establish and maintain effective relationships with fellow employees, vendors, visitors, elected officials, and other agencies of the public; maintain comprehensive sales documentation.
