What The Role Is
The Senior Corporate Accountant – Compensation & Benefits is responsible for supporting the accounting and financial reporting activities related to employee compensation, benefits, payroll-related accruals, and other employee-related liabilities for Heaven Hill’s U.S. and Global entities. This role ensures compensation and benefit-related accounting activities are recorded accurately and timely in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
This position operates within a multi-entity environment with recurring close deadlines, multiple payroll and benefit-related processes, and cross-functional coordination with Payroll, Human Resources, Shared Services, FP&A, and external partners. The role supports the monthly close process through preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and analysis related to compensation and employee benefit programs.
The position plays a key role in maintaining balance sheet integrity, supporting audit readiness, and improving the accuracy and efficiency of compensation and benefit-related accounting processes.

How You Will Spend Your Time?
- Prepare and record journal entries related to compensation and employee benefit activities, including bonus accruals, PTO accruals, deferred compensation, insurance, and other employee-related liabilities
- Prepare and maintain reconciliations for payroll and benefit-related balance sheet accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Analyze compensation and benefit-related expenses and investigate fluctuations or reconciling items as needed
- Coordinate with Payroll, Human Resources, FP&A, and Shared Services to ensure compensation and benefit-related accounting activity is complete and accurate
- Support administration and maintenance of the Concur expense management platform, including employee setup, expense types, approval workflows, accounting mappings, and issue resolution
- Provide support and guidance related to expense reporting policies, reimbursement processes, and Concur functionality
- Prepare supporting schedules, analysis, and documentation for financial reporting and management review
- Support compliance with company accounting policies and applicable accounting standards
- Support internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation, reconciliations, and analysis related to compensation and benefits accounting
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency within compensation and benefits accounting processes
- Support implementation of process improvements, automation initiatives, and standardized procedures
- Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives impacting compensation and benefits accounting
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a multi-entity, global organization
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, accrual accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Experience supporting payroll, compensation, or employee benefit accounting activities
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and functions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and ERP systems
- Attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness
- CPA, CMA or MBA
- Experience with IFS (ERP system)
- Experience in the distilled spirits industry
