What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver (Tri Axle CDL Dump Truck) position at Heartland Paving Partners LLC?
We are currently seeking a Class A CDL Tri Axle Dump Truck Driver in Akron, Ohio. The Class A CDL Tri Axle Dump Truck Driver is responsible for operating dump truck pick-up and delivery of aggregates, asphalt, rock, and other materials to/from construction sites. We are a professionally run and well-organized company, we have nice equipment, plenty of work to complete every year, and an employee-friendly business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle with at least a Class B license. Class A strongly preferred.
- Transport goods to designated locations while adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding delivery schedules, delays, and vehicle issues.
- Follow all DOT regulations, safety protocols, and company guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years documented CDL dump truck driving experience
- Valid Class A/B Commercial Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of DOT and CDL regulations
- Working knowledge of construction site safety, truck maintenance, and road safety regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Effective communication skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for long periods while driving.
- Ability to climb in and out of the truck cabin and trailer.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and minor maintenance tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Class A commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Verifiable experience with hauling or transporting heavy equipment
