What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Transportation Driver position at Heartland High School?
Heartland High School is looking for a reliable, safety-minded, and caring Transportation Driver to join our team. Our driver plays an important role in helping students safely and reliably get to and from school each day.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students.
Schedule
Approximately 20–22 hours per week during school weeks, Monday–Friday.
· Morning: Approximately 6:45 AM–9:00 AM
· Afternoon: Approximately 3:00 PM–5:00 PM
· Additional paid hours may be available for field trips, school events, activities, and other transportation needs.
What You’ll Do
· Safely transport students to and from Heartland High School.
· Operate a Heartland 12-passenger van.
· Follow established routes, schedules, and student transportation procedures.
· Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for students.
· Complete required vehicle safety checks and report maintenance concerns.
· Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and student confidentiality.
· Communicate promptly with school administration regarding delays, incidents, or concerns.
· Represent Heartland High School professionally in the community.

Requirements
· At least 18 years old.
· Current, valid Ohio driver’s license.
· Satisfactory driving record.
· Successful completion of required background checks and other applicable Ohio pupil-transportation requirements.
· Ability to complete required physical examination and transportation training.
· Ability to safely operate a 12-passenger van.
No CDL is required for the qualifying 12-passenger vehicle.
Previous experience working with youth, driving passengers, or working in a school/community setting is preferred but not required. We are willing to provide appropriate training to the right candidate.
