General Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Analyze transcripts and identify equivalencies for students transferring to HCC with previous post-secondary work (domestic, foreign, and military credits). Utilize online resources to facilitate articulation of courses.
- Work with Academic Advisors and instructional administrators to determine credit articulation, as guided by supervisor.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the articulations within the PeopleSoft system and other external databases.
- Coordinate student outreach regarding transcript evaluation and graduation.
- Identify students who may be eligible for graduation, verify degree completion, making adjustments and recommendations when necessary.
- Assist students with questions related to the evaluation of transcripts and credits.
- Maintain access of highly confidential student records in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent combination of education and work experience in a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills; attention to detail; and excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and inclusively within a diverse campus community, as well as with representatives at other institutions and organizations.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Student records experience in higher education, including familiarity with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Experience with the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) and Transferology.
- Experience working with PeopleSoft.
- Experience with a transfer course articulation database.
