We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive technician to join our dedicated maintenance team. This role is vital in ensuring the safety, reliability, and operational readiness of emergency medical transportation vehicles. As an Ambulance Repair Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing ambulance units to meet stringent safety and performance standards, supporting our mission to deliver prompt and dependable emergency services.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on ambulance vehicles using schematics and calibration tools to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on vehicle systems including DME (Digital Medical Equipment), computer hardware, hand tools, and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) components to ensure optimal functionality.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to document service activities, schedule preventive maintenance, and track repair histories.
- Interpret technical schematics and manuals to troubleshoot complex equipment problems efficiently.
- Calibrate medical devices and vehicle systems to meet manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with field service teams to provide timely on-site repairs and support for ambulance units in various locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace adhering to safety protocols while ensuring all repairs meet quality standards.
- Stay current with industry advancements in vehicle technology, OEM updates, and maintenance best practices.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair diverse vehicle systems efficiently.
- Experience working with OEM parts, schematics, calibration procedures, and equipment repair techniques.
- Proficiency in using CMMS software for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Knowledge of digital medical equipment (DME) integration within ambulance vehicles.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and computer hardware related to vehicle repair.
