Position Details
- Location: Mt. Pleasant, IA
- Starting Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour (based on skills & experience)
- Shift Details: 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Core Hours)
- Monday – Thursday
- OT as needed
- Full Time / Direct Hire
- Analyze quality data and prepare standard and ad hoc reports to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Assess quality issues, track defect trends, and support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Apply statistical methods including process capability, hypothesis testing, tolerance analysis, and measurement systems analysis (MSA)
- Develop and execute inspection plans, sampling methods, and test procedures
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and support PPAP processes
- Conduct product and process audits, including finished goods inspections (fit, form, and function)
- Monitor production quality through in-process audits and sampling
- Control and document non-conforming materials, including disposition (scrap, rework, return to stock, RMA)
- Communicate quality issues with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely resolution
- Maintain calibration and proper use of inspection and test equipment
- Support Quality Management System (QMS) requirements in alignment with ISO 9001
- Participate in testing activities, including product performance and compliance testing
- Act as a representative during external audits and inspections (e.g., listing agencies)
- Assist with packaging validation and ISTA testing as needed
- Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Quality Assurance Technician role (or equivalent) in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of quality systems, inspection methods, and documentation practices
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
- Experience with statistical analysis and quality tools (MSA, process capability, sampling plans)
- Hands-on experience with measurement and test equipment (calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and quality systems/databases
- Ability to analyze complex data and communicate findings clearly across teams
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
