What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contracts Janitor position at HEART OF TEXAS GOODWILL INDUSTRIES?
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing custodial and sanitation services to maintain designated facilities in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition. Work shall be performed in strict compliance with the terms of the contract, applicable safety regulations, and established quality control standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wipe down walls, hallways, office spaces, break areas, entryways and restrooms.
- Empty trash and garbage containers in all areas and rooms; remove waste to designated disposal sites.
- Clean and sanitize all restroom fixtures, doors, and high-contact surfaces.
- Stock restroom supplies and refill cleaning bottles to maintain inventory levels.
- Wipe down and sanitize tables, chairs, and countertops in break areas.
- Wash dishes, clean microwaves, and wipe out refrigerators in designated break areas.
- Clean the main office door and other glass entry surfaces as required.
- Dust office furniture, fixtures, and horizontal surfaces to maintain cleanliness.
- Vacuum floor mats located at building entrances and exits.
- Police the exterior of the building, parking lot, and smoking areas for trash, litter, and debris.
- Wash mop heads and hang to dry in the designated location.
- Submit weekly requests to Office Personnel for cleaning supply replenishment.
- Report facility maintenance or safety concerns to an appointed contract site representative and direct supervisor.
- Ensure proper care, use, and accountability of government-furnished equipment and supplies.
- Secure all facilities, equipment, and supplies upon completion of work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to pass a background check and meet security clearance requirements as specified by the contract.
Minimum Skills:
- Ability to safely operate litter pick-up tools.
- Prior custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance experience in a government, commercial, or institutional environment.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and safe chemical handling procedures.
- Knowledge of safety practices and willingness to follow all company and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take directions from supervisors.
Education and/or Experience, Technical Skills:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred but not required.
