Job Summary |

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor provides professional clinical services for mental, and substance use disorders to individuals persons incarcerated in the Marion and Sumter County jails served under contract with the Heart of Florida Health Center (HFHC). Considerable independent judgment is required to carry out assignments. This position includes direct service responsibilities and “on-call” responsibilities. The counselor will work collaboratively with HFHC medical and case management staff to provide quality care to jail inmates with mental and substance use disorders. Work schedules may include evening or weekend hours. |

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
