Job Title: Christian School Teacher (5th–6th Grade Generalist; 7th–12th Grade Science & Social Studies) Headstart

Position Summary
A Christian private school teacher is responsible for providing a Christ-centered, academically rigorous education using the Abeka curriculum. This position includes teaching all core subjects for 5th–6th grade and specializing in science and social studies for 7th–12th grade. The teacher integrates biblical principles into all instruction, fosters spiritual growth, and maintains a structured, disciplined, and nurturing classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum Implementation
- Teach all core subjects (Bible, Math, English, Science, Social Studies, and Reading) for 5th–6th grade students using the Abeka curriculum.
- Teach Science and Social Studies courses for 7th–12th grade students in alignment with Abeka standards.
- Develop lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that align with curriculum objectives and grade-level expectations.
- Integrate biblical worldview and scripture into all subject areas.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a structured, orderly, and respectful classroom environment consistent with Christian values.
- Establish clear expectations for behavior, academic performance, and spiritual growth.
- Address discipline issues with grace, consistency, and biblical principles.
Student Development
- Encourage students’ academic, spiritual, and personal growth.
- Provide individualized support and instruction as needed.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, maintaining accurate records of grades and performance.
Spiritual Leadership
- Model Christ-like behavior in attitude, speech, and actions.
- Lead students in prayer, devotionals, and biblical discussions.
- Encourage students to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavior.
- Collaborate with school staff and administration to support school goals and events.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities.
Administrative Duties
- Prepare report cards, progress reports, and other required documentation.
- Follow school policies and procedures.
- Assist with extracurricular activities, events, or duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A personal and active relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Agreement with the school’s statement of faith and mission.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (preferred).
- Teaching experience, especially in a Christian or private school setting (preferred).
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn the Abeka curriculum.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to teach multiple grade levels and subjects effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $600.00 per week
